Writing a weekly newsletter article is a relatively simple responsibility. Every week, I sit down, think of a topic, write some paragraphs, and publish the article. Unfortunately, I can no longer do this. The reason is simple: an asteroid hit my house.
The incident occurred last week. When I was sitting peacefully at home, writing my next newsletter article, I heard an extremely loud noise. Before I had time to investigate, an asteroid approximately the size of a building hit my house.
My house was destroyed.
My desk was destroyed.
My pet octopus was killed.
Most importantly, the computer containing my new half-written article was destroyed. I would like to emphasize that I had written approximately 2 sentences. Although I was so locked in and really wanted to continue writing, there is currently a large hole where my house used to be, and my computer is buried somewhere under the debris. I have also been told that the “asteroid impact site” is not a safe place for academic work.
Despite these difficulties, I have tried my best to commit to my responsibiliteis. I even considered buying a new computer so that I could continue writing. Unfortunately, all of my money is being spent on rebuilding my house. Some people might ask why I can’t just simply write it on my phone. But my phone was also destroyed by the impact.
Therefore, I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that I stop writing articles. I understand that this is disappointing, however, I hope that everyone can appreciate the difficulty I’m currently facing. I would like to thank the Vox Newsletter team for their understanding.
Once my house is rebuilt, my computer is back, and I have emotionally recovered from the loss of my pet octopus, I may consider returning to writing. Until then, I hope you will understand. Unfortunately, I have no choice.
